Job Description: Store Operations / Sales + Commissions (after 1 month)
Scuba Fusion, a well-established dive center retail and scuba training company with 17 years of experience, is situated in San Mateo. Our mission is to equip dive enthusiasts, from novices to seasoned experts, with the education, gear, and diving experiences necessary to immerse themselves in the underwater world. Join our team and gain valuable insights into the diving industry in a welcoming local dive shop environment.
While prior sales and diving experience is recommended, it is not mandatory. Some familiarity with in-person or phone-based product sales is preferred but not a strict requirement.
This job encompasses:
- Sales of equipment and classes, both in-person and over the phone.
- Basic dive center retail store operations.
- Dive rental department operations.
- Prompt response to customer inquiries by phone or in person.
- Processing student divers into CRM systems.
- Unpacking, labeling, and displaying retail goods.
- Special projects, including but not limited to setting up retail displays and coordinating dive activities, among others.
This position is open to local Bay Area candidates only.
Compensation: Hourly initially, transitioning to hourly + commissions after 1 month.
Our competitive commission structure offers 7% gross / 14% net commission for high-value items such as drysuits, wetsuits, regulators, BCDs, and dive computers. As an example, the sale of a single regulator set priced at $749 would result in a commission of $52.43.
Shift hours: Wednesday – Saturday, 12 PM – 6 PM (Weekdays can be negotiated and somewhat flexible but 3 Saturdays a month are required).
